The Interdisciplinary Academy of System Studies (IASS) is a scientific and practical Academy of Russia organized as an «Autonomous Non-Profit Organization», State Registration Certificate No. 1257700422583 dated 24.09.2025. Under the name «International Academy of System Studies (IASS)» and organized as a «Non-Profit Partnership», it operated from 28.02.2000 to 11.11.2024 under State Registration Certificate 059.319. Pursuant to Federal Law No. 7-FZ of 12 January 1966 (as amended on 30 December 2013), the non-profit partnership form was removed from Federal Law No. 7-FZ «On Non-Profit Organizations» effective 1 September 2014. Organizations previously registered as non-profit partnerships were required to bring their founding documents into compliance with the current legislation. Accordingly, NP «IASS» updated its founding documents and became ANO «IASS», as confirmed by the documents of ANO IASS registration.
The Academy’s activity prior to 2025, when it held the status of an International Academy, is described in the IASS color booklet.

3. The Academy’s publishing activity is expressed in the publication of the results of scientists’ and specialists’ work in the periodical «Bulletin of the Academy», registered in the RSCI (Russian Science Citation Index) of the eLIBRARY.RU information resource. See the rules for authors of the Bulletin of the Academy. The titles and details of articles published by IASS members from 2020 to 2025 in the «Bulletin of the Academy» under the «Systems Analysis of Natural and Technological Processes» research area are presented in the list of Bulletin of the Academy articles.
Founder of the Academy

The founder of the Academy is Igor Nikolaevich Dorokhov – Doctor of Technical Sciences (1981), professor at the Department of Cybernetics of Chemical Engineering Processes at the D.I. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia, where he has worked from 1964 to the present day. He graduated from the N.E. Bauman Moscow Higher Technical School (1964) and the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Lomonosov Moscow State University (1973). He is the founder of the research field of systems analysis of natural and technological processes. He was awarded the D.I. Mendeleev Prize of the Presidium of the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1978 for a series of monographs and 120 articles in the Proceedings of the USSR Academy of Sciences in this research field. He is the author of more than 500 scientific works, including 22 monographs and 5 textbooks. He has supervised 70 candidates of science and 25 doctors of science. He is an Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, and served as President of the International Academy of System Studies (IASS) from 2000 to 2024.

THOSE WHO STOOD AT THE ORIGINS OF THE ACADEMY
The IASS scientific school traces its origin to 1960 – the founding of the world’s first Department of Cybernetics of Chemical Engineering Processes, on the initiative of Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor V.V. Kafarov.
One of the ongoing forms of IASS activity is the organization of regional and international conferences and symposiums on a broad range of systems research topics across various fields of knowledge. Examples include the annual (since 2000) participation of IASS members in the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Divnomorskoye, Gelendzhik; and the organization of the 3rd International Conference on Information Technology and Telecommunications (October 2007, Ganja, Azerbaijan), among others. IASS included 27 scientific sections and 19 regional centers – see the list of IASS sections and regional centers. In 2010, a jubilee gathering of IASS members was held to mark the Academy’s 10th anniversary – see the photos from the IASS jubilee gathering.
